I have a deep appreciation for poetry, whether it’s penned by renowned poets or emerging talents. The words in these poems often spark inspiration in my work and shape our perspectives on life. My love for poetry inspired my second animation project. Although this animation was released before my first film, the creation process was smoother and quicker because I was better prepared.
James Coupland, the author of the poem “Silent Witness,” provided a rich foundation for storytelling. His verses allowed my workflow to adapt seamlessly to each line. I crafted multiple scenes based on each paragraph, with each scene depicting its own storyline that collectively paints a larger picture: a post-apocalyptic event in Jakarta, unfolding over years from the present to a chaotic future.
The premise is straightforward: the future is unpredictable, and we must be prepared for any eventuality, whether it’s for better or worse.
